What a year!

I'm tempted to wait a few more months and make it an even year from my last blog post. I got my homework done tonight a little earlier than I thought, so I have a few minutes to start catching up.

My master's program and teaching school have been all-consuming. I honestly haven't felt this tired since a very memorable summer when I was a student at BYU, living in the foreign language housing, working a 5:00 AM custodial job and taking too many credits for a summer semester. I had to buy a second alarm clock, because I was so sleep-deprived that one alarm just didn't cut it.

There were a lot of valuable experiences I had that summer that I wouldn't trade for anything. Likewise, I have learned a lot this year and have grown as a teacher and as a student. Although I am stinking tired and totally worn out, there have been some positive things I have gained this year. If I can make it through the next week, I think I just might survive...at least for the short-term.

Some people bag on education training programs. There have been times when I have been guilty of saying I'm working on "just" an MEd. The truth is, it has been a ton of work. I am learning about a topic that I think is interesting, and will help me be a better teacher. If you have a half an hour, I'd be happy to tell you all about it. =) In the mean time, I am going to bed.
