One of the students working on the decoration project was bemoaning the fact that no one in the room could draw a wolf. I assured him that you didn't need to draw a wolf to have a prize-winning door. I guess I should have been a little more specific in my advice.
I'm a "Thanksgiving" birthday-girl on occasion. I have a lot to be thankful for, and some days it's the only thing that keeps me sane.

Pick me!
One of those proud teaching moments... Spirit week was this week. It was also my first week back after a long absence, and so I've basically just been catching up on all the stuff I got behind in. Our EDvisory classes had a door decorating contest. The school encouraged us to plan things out with our class in advance to have something creative and fun to decorate our doors with. I didn't have a whole lot of planning time, and I was working on getting caught up with kids during EDvisory, so I wasn't able to fully supervise the creativity happening on my door. I was just glad my kids were working relatively quietly. Here's the result:
Yeah, it didn't win. Wonder why.

Wow, that's really impressive. Was that wolf drawn or is it a picture?
Drawn. Earlier in the week on my way out of school, there were two girls working on it. They did a very nice job.
